Privacy Notice

Account and profile information may include your email address, display name, avatar, biography, collecting interests, and preferences you choose to publish. Museum participation may include artwork images, attribution and provenance claims, acquisition details, ownership history, submissions, messages, issue reports, and moderation records.

Payment providers process donation payment details. The Sketch Index records limited transaction and fulfillment information needed to reconcile support activity; it does not intentionally store complete payment-card numbers.

We use information to authenticate accounts, operate Museum and ownership features, review submissions, provide messaging, prevent abuse, maintain security, respond to requests, and understand site reliability and usage.

Published Museum Records and profile fields you intentionally enable may be public. Private submission images, messages, unapproved identity relationships, purchase prices, collector-estimated values, collection-folder totals, and account administration data are not intended for public display. Avoid submitting sensitive personal information in free-text fields.

The service uses essential authentication and security storage. Optional Vercel Analytics, Speed Insights, and aggregate Museum audience measurement load only after a visitor selects Allow; the preference and a random browser-session identifier are stored in the visitor’s browser. Museum audience measurement records public page paths, page-view times, and recent activity needed to estimate active browsers. It does not intentionally record IP addresses, account identities, query strings, private routes, or transfer links. Page-view records are retained for up to 90 days and inactive session records for up to 30 days.

Supabase supports authentication, database, file storage, and aggregate audience measurement; Vercel supports hosting and optional measurement; Stripe processes donations. These providers may process technical information under their own terms and privacy practices.

Records are retained while needed to operate the archive, protect its integrity, meet security or financial obligations, and resolve disputes. Museum provenance may need a durable historical record even when account-facing personal information is corrected or removed. Operational targets during beta are documented internally: unresolved security and moderation records are retained while active; payment records follow financial obligations; rejected private uploads should be removed after their review and appeal window. Final periods remain subject to owner and legal approval.

To request access, correction, export, or deletion, contact the Museum at support@thesketchindex.com. Requests require identity verification and may be limited where preservation, fraud-prevention, financial, or legal obligations apply.

The service is not designed for children under 13. Do not create an account or submit personal information if local law does not permit you to do so. Material changes to this notice will be reflected on this page.
